DAILY DOSE: Let's make the best of the situation/ Before I finally go insane
As I head to bed after a disappointing night of Yankees and Cardinals losses (the St. Lou loss is MUCH more devastating than the Yankees one, for the record), I give you your Daily Dose, fresh for the sunrise.
Today's Song of the Day is already "Layla" (old school rock version) by Eric Clapton. I already know that it'll be running through my head when I wake tomorrow, because it's been stuck there all night. As the VERY WELL DONE documentary "OutFoxed" came to its conclusion tonight, the filmmakers deftly used the long instrumental interlude to build to the inspirational conclusion of the film. Because that part of the song is one of my single most favourite pieces of music, I actually lost my focus, and stopped paying attention to the movie. Most embarrassingly, I even started humming/singing along without even knowing it. That is, until Jeanie gave me one of those "you are the weirdest person I know, you crazy dweeb" looks. Oops.
Interestingly, besides the one stanza EVERYONE knows, I didn't know a single word to the song, until I looked them up just now. I'd say they're almost appropriate, but that would probably be saying too much. So there's YOUR song of the day. Enjoy!
