TUESDAY IS A POLL DAY: "How the HELL is it almost October?"

Greetings and salutations, lords and ladies, thank the Goode Lord that it's Tuesday, and thus, I don't have to write much (and apparently what i do write consists solely of run-ons and uncalled for commas. Grammar? what grammar? Tis' the interweb, fiends!).

What the hell as gotten into me?

..Not the Stillers, I can tell you that. God, was that a boring game. Anyway, I won't bore you, instead- I'll skip straight to THE POLL! Be sure to help out.

What Should APK dress up as for the Halloween Party to which he's been invited?

-keeping in mind that I won't know most of the people, and they certainly won't be in on the in-jokes I share with my friends, I've got two ideas so far, both of which I don't think are that great.

First- I'm seriously considering going as NASCAR Bad Boy (R) Tony Stewart, because we recently learned that he is the Bizzarro apk.  They call me El Diablo . I could try to get a Tony Stewart outfit, and pass out copies of that picture with my autograph on it. Whaddya think? I think that by doing so, I wouldn't look like a random NASCAR fan (which would be terrible) and I could oh-so-not-so-subtly show people that he's my freaking twin.

Second-- I just rehash the oldie-but-goodie Indiana Jones outfit. Though I don't know if I still have the bullwhip. Frak.

Pretty week ideas, no? This is why i NEED YOUR HELP!!! Come up with some great, timely ideas, in the vein of Kurt's 2003 costume, Roy with white tiger injury.

post your ideas.
in the meantime, be good to each other.

DAILY DOSE: Take Your SexyBack...and Are You Ready for Some Football?

Okay, seriously, Megan-- "one of the best songs you've heard in a long time?" Are you kidding me?

I'm willing to admit that the beat's probably relatively dancable.
I'm willing to admit that the hook's actually realitively not-bad.
But it's so overplayed.
And it's the dumbest catchphrase of the last year.
And it's barely even sung.
AND there are all those dumb parts where the talking guys like, "Take it to the bridge..." "Play the chorus" "Jam a shirmpfork into my eye".

...sigh. I had such faith in you.  Now, I'm just sad. I mean sexyback is the kind of song Ang would like.

Yup. I went there...

Anyway, I know I said that Mondays would be "Football Recap Day", but there's a slight problem-- I haven't watched any football this weekend, other than the PSU/Youngstown State game (though i did catch a bunch of the WVU game on Thursday).  So all I can really comment on are these short tidbits:

1) AJ Wallace is fast.
2) That Slayton kid is incredible
3) It's fun when Pitt loses to the 9th best Big 11 Ten team.
4) It's even more fun when the Notre Dame bandwagon goes up in Maize and Blue flames. Yes, it's true: I hate Jabba the Weis and his sex slave Brady Quinn more than I hate Michigan. Chew on that, friends.
5) PSU's playcalling is beyond atrocious. tOSU is going to spank them. ...sigh (again)...
6) The NFL is kind of topsy-turvy so far, isn't it?  I hope the Stillers sack up tonight.

Can anyone out there step up and catch me up on all the early-season action I'm missing? Being a grownup sucks...

My NCAA Top 5:
1) Ohio State
2) West Virginia
3) USC
4) Auburn
5) Michigan/Louisville (i don't expect either of these to last).

be good to each other, and Here We Go Stillers!

Song of the Day
"
Far Away"
Nickleback

No kidding. I hate Nickelback. I've hated every one of their recent releases (they've released like, what, 19 tracks from their latest albumn?), ESPECIALLY that "Photograph" song. But I'll be damned if this song isn't catch, pretty, and sweet. I'll take it. And yes, I recognize fully the inherrent irony of chastizing Megan for liking SexyBack, and then chosing a Nickelback song as Song of the Day. Sometimes you just can't help what ends up stuck in your head when you wake. Irony is a harsh mistress. Ah well.

DAILY DOSE: "Oh Snap! Oh Snap!"

Okay, ever write an incredibly great FRLG post, making sure to put supreme loads of tender, loving care into it because it's your first big post back, only to have it disintegrate somewhere in cyberspace?

nope? Well, it sucks. So yeah, that's why there was no post yesterday, somewhere between hitting "send" on GMAIL and my FRLG post actually, you know, posting on blogspot, it vanished. poof. gone. Like Kaiser Sose.

Frak.

Anywho, I guess I'll just say some quick things about the weekend, then skitter along-- there's not been much time today, because I was busy kind of losing an argument in Greensburg. I didn't really lose, per se. I just basically got my middle-case scenario. It wasn't the best case scenario, but then again, I can't fly to the house of my incredibly gorgeous swedish twin fight attendant girlfriends' house, either. Know what I mean? I kind of knew that the best case scenario was a pipe dream.

Man, the attorney-client-priveldge makes blogging about my job really difficult. And nonsensical.

Okay- the weekend? Tonight is a little happy hourage with some lawyers, then probably so out-and-aboutness. Though I'll admit, i'm exhausted. This week has officially begun my three-month megapush to make my hours by the end of the year, and I'm already hitting a wall. Oh well, at least there's only two more days left in the workweek after today.

Tomorrow is chalk-full of excitment. There's the PSU/YSU game, so hopefully we'll kick some Penguin ass. Then there's Gooder's Goodbye Dinner with the fam, and his new semi-significant other. Apparently she's young. And apparently he's living the dream. My hero. Late night will mark the first party at Swann and Beth's house (i guess i'll have to catch you up on those loverly ladies sometime later) which should include much imbibement, and maybe even some Shaky-Shaky. The awesomeness is tangible.

On Sunday, a Stillers off day means that I head to work. I hope that it's not as hot here as last week.

Okay, i know that's one weak-ass post, but whatever. I'm still getting into the swing of things.

Now, everyone leave me alone, and go watch some highlights of that guy Slayton from WVU. He's un-fraking-credible. Unfortunately, I bet Ron $20 bucks that Adrian Peterson (OU) would win the Heisman. Ron took Slayton. Dammit.

Until next time, be good to each other.

Song of the Day:
"London Bridge"
Fergie

So sue me, I dig this song.  There are certainly worse dance songs out there than this little beat-heavy piece of rambunctiousness (I'm looking at YOU, Timberlake!) IT's catchy as all get out, and Fergie has phe-nomenal, count-chocula, a-rugula, legs. Seriously. Like, ...on levels.  Anyway, can someone please tell me what her "London Bridge" refers to? I grew up in the country, and I'm a lameass lawyer, now.

Link of the Day:
Holy CRAP!!! Ashlee Simpson is hot. No, seriously, I really find myself far more attracted to her than her sister these days. I can't explain it, either. I think God's just using me for laughs again...

DAILY DOSE: "A Promise to Return"

Okay, let's give this a try.  Perhaps if I use this space as my early morning engine rev, it'll make me more productive, earlier, each day.  Here's hoping.

So where the hell have I been? Like you don't know.  I've been working, silly. Working and living a rather routine, semi-mundane life as a young professional. There's been some cool stuff going on, and my first summer in the history of ever that didn't feature a break from work or school has had all kinds of cool moments that I need to eventually talk about (Kup's bachelor party/wedding, Jerry's bachelor party, the Thiebeult Maneuver, The All-Star Game), so I'm going to have to catch you up on that.  All in due time.
Anyway, I say we give it another shot. I know that I've changed, and that you've changed, but this time apart has only made me realize how much I need you, Kingdomites. Let's give it a go, what do you say? For old time's sake?

I'm going to try harder than ever to make this work.
So spread the word, friends, to all of the old posters. I'm back. For real. And for a long, long time.

Now, where did I leave my creativity...

Song of the Day:
"A Promise to Return"
Bear McCreary
Battlestar Galactica Season 2 Soundtrack
t's instrumental, but hey—that's what I listen to at work.  It's a gorgeous melancholy, but ultimately hopeful, collection of strings that is over far too quickly. Absolutely beautiful. If you're looking for good classical-style music, just stick around here for the foreseeable future, and I'll throw a lot of BSG for you to iTune.

Link of the Day:
Dave's Long Box
This is basically a blog where a guy that's 10 times the writer I am goes through his old comic collection, cracks jokes, and picks apart the alternatingly awesome/inane portions of 80s and early 90s comics. Non-comic fans, I'll be honest, most of the jokes are going to fly well over your head.  But there's enough irreverent general humor that you might get a kick out of it.

Until tomorrow, be good to each other.
